Commission Diversity

By June 2025, the County Administrative Office, in collaboration with the Board of Supervisors, will increase by 60 percent participation of Hispanic/Latino South County residents on boards and commissions to ensure representational and responsive advisory bodies.

Educate the community and elected officials on populations with critical underrepresentation in government. Increase awareness of and interest in participating on County boards and commissions within the community. Gather information on barriers to engaging in civic activities, and generate ideas for reducing these barriers. Implement recruitment, retention, and compensation strategies focused on hard to reach groups.
