Proposition 47

On November 4, 2014, voters passed Proposition 47 “The Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act,” reducing most possessory drug offenses and thefts of property valued under $950 to straight misdemeanors rather than felonies. Individuals convicted of these charges prior to the election may petition the Court to be resentenced or to have his or her sentence reclassified to a misdemeanor.
